Product Specifications: Ylang-Ylang is usually distributed across Indonesia, the Philippines, Madagascar and Comores. It is a medium-sized tropical tree with mauve or yellow flowers. The finer oil is taken from the yellow blooms.

Typical country of origin:

Madagascar

Ylang-ylang organic essential oil can be used to:

Emotionally, Ylang-Ylang Essential Oil is heralded for being helpful with stress and anxiety. It’s also used in cases of depression or when trying to cope with anger. Ylang-Ylang is also considered an aphrodisiac.

Topically, Ylang-Ylang Oil has been praised for helping combat acne and oily skin. It may help with alopecia (hair loss).

Summary:

Aroma: Sweet, floral, exotic and heavy.

Precautions: Excessive use may lead to headaches and nausea. It could irritate sensitive skin and it is advised to refrain from using it on inflammatory skin conditions and dermatitis.

Mind: It is excellent for excitable conditions, such as regulating adrenaline flow and relaxing the nervous system, thereby resulting in a feeling of joy. It could also very well ease feelings of anger, anxiety, shock, panic, and fear.

Body: Its reputed ability to balance the hormones makes it valuable for problems associated with the reproductive system. Principally a tonic to the womb and could well be helpful after a caesarean birth, instilling a feeling of warmth and togetherness. Also said to keep the breasts firm. Its antidepressant and aphrodisiac qualities are well known for helping with sexual problems, such as impotence and frigidity. Particularly useful for rapid breathing and a rapid heartbeat and its sedative properties could help lower high blood pressure. Altogether, it has a relaxing effect on the nervous system, although prolonged use may create the opposite effect. Its antiseptic nature seems to have a beneficial action on intestinal infections.

Skin: A versatile oil, having a balancing action that makes it effective on both oily and dry skin. Also has a tonic and stimulating effect on the scalp, promoting more luxurious hair growth.

Types

Ylang Ylang Complete: The essential oil obtained from a complete, uninterrupted distillation. Within holistic aromatherapy, typically the complete oil is preferred.

Ylang-Ylang III: The distillation process continues after the Ylang-Ylang Extra essential oil is collected. After a specific period of time, the process stops, and the resulting oil is collected again. That oil is then referred to as Ylang-Ylang I essential oil. The process repeats, resulting in Ylang-Ylang II and Ylang-Ylang III. The duration between distillations can vary between distillers. The distillations are generally referred to as fractions and are typically used within fragrance and perfumery applications.

Ylang-Ylang is typically distilled in fractions. The complete oil is the product of the plant that was distilled for the full allotted time, whereas other versions are distilled for a shorter amount of time. Ylang-Ylang III is usually used in perfumery and cosmetics as it consists of a more floral scent, as opposed to the muskier version that comes with Ylang-Ylang Complete.

It blends well with: Citronella, Grapefruit, Jasmine, Lavender, Lemon, Melissa, Neroli, Orange, Patchouli, Rose, Rosewood and Sandalwood.

Technique of extraction method:

Our Ylang-Ylang (iii) is extracted through water or steam distillation from the freshly picked flowers. It is a yellowish-oily liquid with a sweet-floral and balsamic-woody odour. It’s also said to have a tenacious and very sweet balsamic undertone. It is a middle-to-base note oil.

Caution:

It may affect sensitive skin. Keep out of reach of children. If you are pregnant, nursing, or under a doctor’s care, consult your physician. Avoid contact with eyes, inner ears, and sensitive areas.

Note: We supply Ylang-Ylang (iii) pure essential oil, Ylang-Ylang organic essential oil, Ylang-Ylang 1 and Ylang-Ylang Complete.

Cymbopogon flexuosus is an aromatic, evergreen, clump-forming perennial grass producing numerous, erect stems up to 3 metres tall from a short, thick rhizome. The plant is often cultivated, both in gardens and commercially, for the oil.

typical country of origin:

South India

Lemongrass organic essential oil can be used to:

To make use of lemongrass in aromatherapy, start by adding 12 drops of the essential oil to 1 teaspoon of your favourite carrier oil, which could include coconut oil, sweet almond oil, or jojoba oil. Mix the oils in a warm bath or massage the oil into your skin.

Benefits of lemongrass essential oil include:

Healthier Skin:

Lemongrass contains purifying and toning benefits, and can be used in your skincare routine to help promote skin health. Add a few drops of Lemongrass essential oil to your daily cleanser or moisturiser to help tone and purify skin. The oil has similar benefits to those of Ti-tree, which can help promote the appearance of healthy fingernails and toenails. Try combining the Lemongrass oil with Ti-tree essential oil and apply the mixture to your fingernails and toenails to help them look and feel clean and healthy. You can also add lemongrass oil to shampoos, conditioners, deodorants, soaps and lotions. The oil is an effective cleanser for all skin types. Its antiseptic and astringent properties make lemongrass oil perfect for developing even and glowing skin, which is why it will form a large part of your natural skincare routine. When used with steam from hot water, it can open up your pores and help loosen any build-up of dirt for a deeper cleanse. It can also serve as a natural toner and strengthen your skin tissue.

Healthier Hair:

Another fun fact about the oil is that by rubbing it into your hair, scalp and body, you can alleviate headaches or muscle pain. This brings us to our next set of benefits for healthy, strong hair! One of the best natural oils to have benefits for your hair, Lemongrass oil can strengthen your hair follicles. If you are struggling with hair loss or an itchy and irritated scalp, then massage a few drops of lemongrass oil into your scalp for two minutes and then rinse. The soothing and bacteria-killing properties will leave your hair shiny, fresh and odour-free.

Eases Anxiety:

Lemongrass is one of several essential oils that help with anxiety. The mild smell of lemongrass oil is known to relieve anxiety and irritability and help achieve an overall sense of calm and collectiveness. A study published in the Journal of Alternative and Complimentary Medicine found that when subjects were exposed to anxiety-causing situations and smelled the scent of lemongrass oil, the group experienced a decrease in anxiety and subjective tension, immediately after treatment administration. If you feel like you need a stronger or more effective solution to anxiety using lemongrass, then create your massage oil or add lemongrass oil to your body lotion. You can also try having a cup of lemongrass tea at night before bed to experience its calming benefits (note this tea is made from the leaves, not the essential oil).

Natural Bug Repellent:

Lemongrass oil is known to repel bugs, such as mosquitoes and ants, as it consists of a high level of citral and geraniol. This natural repellent has a mild smell and can be sprayed directly on the skin. You can even use lemongrass oil to kill fleas by adding about five drops of oil to water to create your own spray, then apply the spray to your pet’s coat.

Natural Deodoriser and Cleaner:

Using lemongrass oil as a natural and safe air freshener can be achieved by adding the oil to water and making use of it as a mist, oil diffuser or vaporiser. By adding other essential oils, like lavender or tea tree oil, you can customise your own natural fragrance. Cleaning with lemongrass essential oil is a great idea as not only does it naturally deodorise your home, but it also helps to sanitise it.

Blends well with: Ti-tree, Basil, Lavender, Cardamom, or Spearmint.

technique of extraction method:

Our Lemongrass pure essential oil is distilled through the steam distillation of the leaves of Cymbopogon flexuosus. It produces a pungent, smoky, citrus essential oil.

caution:

May affect sensitive skin. Keep out of reach of children. If you are pregnant, nursing, or under a doctor’s care, consult your physician. Avoid contact with eyes, inner ears, and sensitive areas.

Note: We supply both Lemongrass pure essential oil and Lemongrass organic essential oils.

Product Specifications:

The lemon, Citrus limon, is a species of small evergreen tree in the flowering plant family Rutaceae, native to South Asia, primarily in northeastern India. Its fruits are ellipsoidal. Lemons contain numerous phytochemicals, including polyphenols, terpenes, and tannins.

Typical country of origin:

South Africa

Lemon organic essential oil can be used to:

Lemon essential oil is extracted from the peel of fresh lemons using a “itsing” process that pricks and rotates the peel as oil is released. With its bright and joyful aroma, it benefits skin and hair as much as it enhances your environment. The essential oil can be diluted and applied topically to your skin, as well as diffused into the air and inhaled for further health benefits.

Did you know: If you apply undiluted lemon essential oil onto many kinds of warts regularly, remembering to surround the good skin with a ‘barrier’ (such as coconut oil or neural gel), the wart will drop off after a while.

Some of the benefits of lemon essential oils include the following:

Helps reduce anxiety and depression symptoms:

A PubMed study found that lemon essential oil was a powerful calming and mood-improving agent during stress tests. The same study concluded that lemon essential oil was more effective at relieving stress than other essential oils, such as lavender and rose. When diffused, Lemon oil provides an uplifting environment that promotes a positive mood. Owing to the chemical makeup of the oil, it has been shown to help improve mood with an energising and invigorating aroma. If you want to diffuse lemon oil, use three to four drops in an essential oil diffuser of your choice.

Can ease morning sickness symptoms:

Nausea and vomiting are two of the most common symptoms experienced in early pregnancy. There may be reason to believe that lemon essential oil can relieve (or at least decrease) the severity of these symptoms. In a 2014 study, 100 pregnant women were exposed to aromatherapy with lemon essential oil. The results concluded that the oil helped decrease the levels of nausea and vomiting significantly amongst these women. Not only will it help with morning sickness, but it will also leave a lemon-fresh scent around the house.

Natural skin exfoliator:

When incorporated into your skincare routine, Lemon oil can help give your complexion a refreshed, healthy-looking glow. To make your own homemade exfoliating scrub, combine 4 – 5 drops of Lemon essential oil into a small amount of oatmeal and water. As you apply the Lemon oatmeal scrub to your skin, you will feel the cleansing and refreshing properties of Lemon oil working to exfoliate and clean your skin.

Natural furniture maintenance aid:

The cleansing and preserving qualities of Lemon make it the ideal oil for maintaining your furniture. Whether your furniture could use a good wipe-down or a brand-new shine, there are several uses for Lemon when it comes to cleaning and preserving furniture. By adding a few drops of Lemon essential oil to olive oil, you can create your own non-toxic furniture polish at home. Lemon essential oil leaves a clean shine, prevents fine wood finishes from drying out, and can replace lost moisture in antique woods as it penetrates worn finishes. It is recommended to apply the polish in an inconspicuous spot first before applying it to the entire piece, to see if the surface reacts accordingly to the polish.

Removes grease from your hands with ease:

If you like working on machinery such as your bike or your car, or projects in general within the garage, you know the frustration of trying to get black grease off your hands. No matter how hard you scrub with soap, there always seems to be a greasy residue left behind. Give your soap a little extra boost in cleaning power by adding a few drops of Lemon essential oil to your soap mixture, and give your hands a good scrub.

Helps restore tarnished metals and jewellery:

Lemon oil is a great remedy for alleviating the early stages of tarnish on silver and other metals. No need to throw out jewellery, silverware, or other household items that have started to tarnish. Just put a couple of drops of Lemon essential oil on a cotton ball, and rub on the tarnished area to bring back the natural beauty of your metals.

Blends well with:

Chamomile, Eucalyptus, Frankincense, Geranium, Peppermint, Sandalwood, and Ylang ylang.

caution:

Lemon is photosensitive; wait 45 minutes after applying before going out into the sun. May affect sensitive skin. Keep out of reach of children. If you are pregnant, nursing, or under a doctor’s care, consult your physician. Avoid contact with eyes, inner ears, and sensitive areas.
