Advice:

Winter Fighter is a must in your medicine cabinet! It must be on hand when those first winter symptoms strike. Take two capsules as soon as you detect the first symptoms. If taken immediately, Winter Fighter will clear up these symptoms within a day. It is a good idea to take large doses of Vitamin C+ with your Winter Fighter. This combination is deadly against winter symptoms.
Colds and flu are viral infections; therefore, antibiotics that kill bacteria have no effect. They may only affect secondary infections like ear or tonsil infection, laryngitis, fever and mouth and throat infection. Antibiotics break down your immune system.

Ingredients:
Aloe ferox fibre powder, Echinacea Purpurea (L.) moench herba pulv sicc, Magnesium stearate USP/BP, Tapioca starch.

Aloe Ferox’s News Letter May 2025 had the following piece regarding Winter Fighter:

Winter Fighter. Echinacea. Colds & Flu

As colder weather sets in, our immune systems often need extra support. Aloe Ferox’s Winter Fighter contains 300 mg Echinacea purpurea herb powder per capsule and should be used at the first sign of a cold or flu. Colds, flu, and respiratory infections thrive in winter and are highly contagious. These viruses enter the body through the mouth, eyes, or nose, and are mainly spread through airborne droplets when a person coughs, sneezes, or talks. They also spread through hand-to-hand contact and contaminated shared objects such as utensils, towels, toys, or phones. Droplets that fall on your hands or hard surfaces are also contagious. Colds and flu can even worsen existing conditions such as asthma. Handwashing and sanitising, as during the pandemic, is still a very safe way to minimise the spread. The fine hairs in the nose trap germs, but usually do not provide enough protection. A cold or flu attack can deal a heavy blow to the immune system, which is supposed to protect and defend the body. A weak immune system can lead to repeated colds and/or flu during the winter.

Natural Remedy. Immune System. Recovery.

Winther Fighter is an excellent winter wellness product for anyone who wants to stay healthy or bounce back faster from illness – a trusted natural remedy known for the following:

  • Strengthens the immune system.
  • Contains compounds like flavonoids and cichoric acid that combat oxidative stress.
  • Helps speed up recovery.
  • Its anti-inflammatory properties help reduce swelling and inflammation, e.g., a sore throat or arthritis-related symptoms.
  • Its mild antiviral and antibacterial action has been shown to have some activity against viruses and bacteria.
  • Reduces the severity of colds and flu.
  • Stimulates white blood cells and, in this way, helps the body fight infections.

Safety of Echinacea during pregnancy:

The safety of using Echinacea during pregnancy has not been conclusively established. As most research studies exclude pregnant women, there is a lack of specific information on its effects on fetal development and pregnancy outcomes. If you are pregnant and considering using Echinacea, it is crucial to consult with your healthcare provider to make an informed decision that considers your specific health needs and circumstances. Some experts are concerned that Echinacea may stimulate the immune system, and this could potentially affect the delicate balance of the immune system during pregnancy. Excessive immune stimulation during pregnancy might theoretically be associated with adverse outcomes.

Autoimmune disorders:

Caution is advised for people with an autoimmune disorder as Echinacea stimulates the immune system and could potentially worsen autoimmune conditions like lupus or rheumatoid arthritis. A person suffering from an autoimmune disease should avoid immune boosters because these products are designed to stimulate or enhance immune activity, which can be harmful in autoimmune conditions. In autoimmune diseases, the immune system is already overactive and mistakenly attacks the body’s own healthy tissues. Taking immune boosters may worsen symptoms or trigger flare-ups by further activating an already misdirected immune response. Instead, managing autoimmune diseases often requires calming or regulating the immune system, not stimulating it.

Who can use Echinacea?

  • Adults and teens – 12 years and older: Safe for most healthy individuals when used as directed.
  • Ages 6-12 years can open a capsule and mix a fraction (e.g. ¼) of the powder with juice or yoghurt.
  • Ages 2-6: There are Echinacea products on the market (especially liquid extracts or syrups) that are specially formulated for children. Therefore, recommend child-friendly Echinacea syrups or tablets instead.

  • Echinacea can be taken daily for short periods of up to 8 weeks.
  • Long-term use may cause digestive disturbances.

Allergy-prone individuals:

Especially those allergic to ragweed, daisies, marigolds, or chrysanthemums – Echinacea is in the same plant family and may cause allergic reactions.
